Over a Candle

Melissa is a friend of mine who knows a lot more about anime than I do. It’s been a while since I’ve seen her, but she and her sister picked up a little gift for me at this year’s A-Cen, and we finally met up for her to give it to me. And to catch up, which seems more important. But I’m not going to post about that. Instead, I just wanted to share with you all an image of their gift.

This is a plush doll of Lain in her teddy-bear outfit. It totally rocks. ::SQUEE:: Fanboy heaven again.

For those that don’t know, Lain is easily my favorite anime series. It’s totally screwed up, of course, but that’s part of its charm. If you’ve never seen it, you simply must watch this show. It’ll probably hurt your head, but it’s worth it.

I just had to share. (And I had to “squee” to try to freak out Theresa. That’s what she gets for not coming today.)

By the way, the title of this post is a reference to an episode of scrubs where Christopher Meloni (Elliot Stabler on Law and Order: SVU) plays a pediatrician. He collects dolls, ostensibly for his patients, but calls them “collectibles.”
